Moundridge's many recreational facilities include a 25 meter swimming pool, a lighted baseball diamond and tennis courts. Two attractive city parks with ample outdoor picnic space, shelter houses and playground equipment are maintained. A year-round recreation program provides supervised sports and activities for both youngsters and adults. Lakes for fishing and water sports are only minutes away.  An excellent public golf course is only five minutes from the city. Good hunting areas are within a 45 mile radius. Moundridge also boasts a number of great school sports teams with opportunities available for middle school and high school students.

There are organized youth sports for most seasons through the Recreation Commission. They offer soccer, baseball, basketball and flag football for both girls and boys.

Grasshopper Field
Diamond #1:
Regulation baseball diamond.  290' down the baselines and 300' in the power allies.  Major College type concrete dugouts.  Clay base regulation height and slope pitchers mound.  Has an Agg-lime infield with base settings that can be moved from 50' to 90'.  Irrigated outfield and foul territories are planted with a special bluegrass/rye mixture known for its deep green color and good wearing surface, used in many minor legue ballparks.

Built in 1947, considered to be one of the best non-grass infields in the area.  Host of the 2000 Babe Ruth Midwest Plains 8 State Regional Tournament.  In 2004 it was the site of a High School Regional Tournament.  Has hosted many 12 & under, 13 - 15 year old and 16 - 19 Babe Ruth Tournaments.  Each summer over 100 games are played on this field.

Diamond #2: Regulation slow pitch softball diamond.  Portable fences are available for converting it to the shorter regulation fast pitch outfield distance.  Plans have been made to cover the dugouts to allow maximum air movement.

Infield is "Viola Red Shale" which is preferred by many softball teams.  Bases are movable from 50' to 90' to adapt to the many age groups using this field.

The irrigated outfield grass is a special blugrass/rye blend known for the deep green color in the warm Kansas summer.

Built in the 1970's and is a topnotch softball field.  In 2003 & 2004 it was the site of the High School Regional tournament.  Also hosts many adult softball tournaments.
