In 1929 Moundridge granted a ten-year contract to Kansas Pipeline Company to supply the City with gas. After great success the City realized that natural gas was here to stay and in 1937 decided to build its own gas distribution system. Since those times the City has owned and maintained its gas system which continues to grow to this day.
