The City of Moundridge is a local Municipal Government that provides efficient, high quality general government services along with water, gas, electrical and waste water utilities.  The Office Assistant (OA) is responsible for Utility Billing and providing general administrative support to the entire City of Moundridge staff, this position reports to the Office Manager.  The OA provides specific support to special projects and events.  The OA must be adept at producing high-quality documents (Word, Excel) and presentations (PowerPoint) under tight deadlines, therefore knowledge of Ward, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is essential.  Multi-tasking and prioritizing workflow are essential to succeed in this role.  The OA should be able to communicate in an articulate manner (written, verbal) and be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment.  
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serving as the primary receptionist (answering and directing incoming calls and greeting, directing and assisting visitors and receiving payments);
Maintaining contacts and calendars via Outlook;
Ordering, stocking and distributing office supplies;
Scanning documents, making photocopies, sending faxes, shredding documents;

Planning and scheduling meetings and appointments;

Organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files;

Maintaining general office tidiness;
Providing direct administrative support to the office manager;

Helping with public presentations;

Attending and assisting with community events;

Assisting with special projects;

Running errands and performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned;

Attend professional training and development events and workshops;
Other tasks as assigned

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, problem solver, detail-oriented, energetic and highly organized.  Must be a team player and have outstanding writing, editing, data entry and proofreading skills.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects are essential.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.  A minimum of one year experience in reception and/or data entry is required, bookkeeping and basic knowledge of accounting.  Bilingual a plus but not required.

WHEREAS, THE Fair Housing groups and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development have, over the years, received thousands of complaints of alleged illegal housing discrimination and found too many that have proved upon investigation to be violations of the fair housing laws; and
